Account Executive

Ratio · San Mateo, CA

About Ratio

Ratio is an Agentic Closing Motion Platform for B2B technology scale-ups — one flow from proposal to cash. Most teams treat the close as a signature; Ratio believes the close ends at cash upfront. The platform brings proposals, BNPL (so buyers pay over time while partners get paid upfront), renewals, and receivables into a single motion. The enemy it fights is the fragmented close: the handoffs from sales to finance to billing that turn a "yes" into weeks of delay.

Ratio was founded and is led by experienced entrepreneurs and operators who have founded and exited companies across more than 20 years in Silicon Valley. Its products are backed by top-tier asset managers and venture investors, with the ambition of creating a new trillion-dollar asset class.

Ratio grew 800%+ in 2024 and 349% in 2025, reached GAAP profitability in August 2025, and recently closed a $15.8M venture round on top of $100M in lending capacity. Sellers on Ratio see roughly 30% higher close rates, 25% higher ACV, and cash at close instead of 60+ days later. Customers include Motive, Taxwell, Bigtincan, and DearDoc.

The Role

Ratio is hiring an Account Executive to own its largest and most complex opportunities from first contact to a signed contract and funded customer. Here, the AE is the quarterback of every deal: the single owner accountable for driving it to a decision, coordinating internal teams such as Risk, Underwriting, and Legal, and keeping the customer moving and informed throughout. Needing input from another team never transfers that ownership — staying on top of those dependencies and chasing them is the job.

Ratio is direct about the standard up front, because it is the job. This seat is built for a disciplined seller who does the unglamorous work consistently: researches before every call, builds a customized deck for every material opportunity, rehearses, keeps the CRM spotless in real time, and never lets a deal stall waiting on someone else. If you take pride in being the most prepared and most organized person in every deal, you will thrive here.

What You'll Do

  • Master the sales process and client relationships — manage the full cycle from prospecting and cold-calling to demos and close, and navigate decision makers and economic buyers across sales and finance
  • Own your number — hit pipeline and revenue targets, and keep monthly and quarterly commits and forecasts accurate within 90%
  • Quarterback every deal — drive each opportunity to a decision, proactively coordinate and chase Risk, Underwriting, and Legal, and never let a deal go quiet on an internal dependency
  • Own your territory — map the prospective customers in your market and lead the acquisition cycle from first contact to close
  • Research before you engage — walk into every call knowing the account, the stakeholders, and a clear point of view on why Ratio fits
  • Build bespoke decks for material opportunities — every pitch above $10M ARR gets a professionally designed deck tailored to that opportunity, no off-the-shelf decks on material first meetings
  • Run a proactive follow-up cadence and keep your CRM reflecting reality — log every call, email, and meeting the same day so the pipeline is always accurate

Who You Are

  • Experienced closer — 4+ years closing complex B2B SaaS, fintech, or payments deals, with a track record of mid-market and enterprise ACVs and long, multi-stakeholder sales cycles
  • Exceptionally disciplined and organized — you run your pipeline like a well-oiled machine, your CRM is clean without anyone asking, and you take forecasting seriously, planning your path to goal every month
  • A real researcher and strong deck-builder — you do the homework on every account and stakeholder, then turn a thesis into a clean, persuasive, tailored narrative you deliver with poise to senior finance and revenue leaders
  • Fluent in sales methodologies such as Command of the Message and Sandler, and qualification frameworks like MEDDPICC
  • Startup-tested — you thrive in a fast-moving, early-stage company, wear multiple hats, and have a builder's mindset motivated by being part of a founding GTM team
  • Comfortable with AI tools and with financials — you already reach for AI to research, draft, and prepare, and you can work with finance, procurement, and legal counterparts on both sides
  • Coachable and a clear communicator — you welcome rehearsal, feedback, and a high bar, act on it quickly, and always close the loop

Nice to Have

  • Experience selling to CFOs, finance leaders, CROs, and sales leaders
  • Background in embedded finance, BNPL, payments, or revenue-based financing
  • Early-stage or category-creation experience, where you built a process rather than inherited it
  • A bachelor's degree, ideally in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
  • Fluency in modern sales tooling — HubSpot, Apollo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and outbound prospecting tools — plus the financial literacy to read an income statement, balance sheet, and SaaS contracts

Why This Role, Why Now

  • You're defining a category, not pitching a feature — Ratio is building the Closing Motion category, so you'll sell something genuinely new to finance and revenue leaders, not a me-too point tool
  • The product is expanding fast — new AI agents are landing inside the platform, giving you a steady stream of fresh value to bring to prospects and real upside on every deal
  • The traction is real — profitable since August 2025, growing triple digits, and already inside companies like Motive, Bigtincan, and DearDoc
  • A direct line to the top — a flat, fast org where you work alongside leadership across sales, product, risk, and ops, and your read on the customer shapes what Ratio builds
  • Capital and runway — a $15.8M venture round and $100M in lending capacity on top of a profitable business

What Ratio Offers

  • Competitive base + uncapped commission
  • Meaningful equity in an early-stage, category-defining company
  • Health / Dental / Vision and other benefits, plus a generous PTO policy
  • A modern AI-enabled sales stack and direct support to build your first bespoke decks
  • A high-ownership seat on a small, location-agnostic team defining the Closing Motion category
